JOB SUMMARY:
The Communications intern will be responsible for aiding project-wide communications through internal and external emails, texts and newsletters. This student will oversee all Kaleo social media platforms. This student will also collaborate with the other media and administrative interns to help execute Kaleo programs and events.

The internship is designed to give the student essential industry insights and hands-on experience in their field of choice. It’s a part-time, 8-week commitment from May 22nd – July 15th. The time requirement would be an estimated 15-20 hours per week. The schedule will be determined around the student’s other obligations (Kaleo, school, work, etc.). Students can raise money to receive a paycheck for the internship. Inquire for more details if interested.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Developing and implementing a social media strategy and timeline for Kaleo social media platforms.

Creating a detailed timeline at beginning of the summer

Collecting photos from Kaleo Photographer for posts

Writing captions for posts

Creating and posting Instagram stories
-

Collecting, compiling, and sending weekly leaders' emails with necessary information and files for the week

Communicating project highlights via email to Kaleo students, parents and donors

Sending a weekly informational email to students participating in Summer Training
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in using popular social media platforms

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Meticulous attention to detail

Content writing experience

Smartphone with social media apps

Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at a time

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
EDUCATION & PRIOR STUMO EXPERIENCE:

Student must be a Kaleo participant, KLP or DGL
-
Going into your junior or senior year
-
2.5 GPA or higher seeking a degree in one of the majors listed below:

Media: Videography, Photography, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Media Arts or similar

Communications: Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing or similar
